Thomas Jane Returns As The Punisher (For A Short Film At Least)

Let's face it, none of The Punisher films have been that good, but Thomas Jane was easily the best actor in the role.  Now he has returned to the role in a short "fan" film that he put together and showed at Comic-Con along with Ron Perlman titled "Dirty Laundry".

"I wanted to make a fan film for a character I've always loved and believed in - a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It's been a blast to be a part of from start to finish -- we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it." -- Thomas Jane

The Punisher Being Developed For Television

Fox has committed to a pilot for The Punisher, a series based on the Marvel comic from Edward Allen Bernero and ABC.

The comic adaptation is described as an hour-long cop procedural with a Marvel signature and a new take on one of the comic book giant's iconic characters, Frank Castle, a rising star detective with the New York Police Department who moonlights as the vigilante Punisher, seeking justice for those the system has failed.

This marks the first sale this season for ABC, with the company setting up Hulk with Guillermo del Toro, David Eick and Jessica Jones with Melissa Rosenberg last season.
