Darth Maul Returns Trailer

Everyone has heard by now that Darth Maul is returning to the Star Wars universe in The Clone Wars animated series.  A new trailer has made it's debut as the finale of season 4 nears, and the return of Darth Maul is closing in.

Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace opens in 3D on February 10th, and all RealD3D Cinemas showing the movie will be giving away these very cool Darth Maul 3D glasses on opening day, while supplies last.  Unlike other 3D glasses, you won't have to return these for recycling or to the trash!

AMC Hosts Phantom Menace 3D Events In 10 Cities

AMC Theaters have teamed up with Hasbro and Lucasfilm for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D event nights at 10 of their theaters.  The events will take place February 11 at 11 a.m. local time at each location and will feature interactive activities, games, and giveaways at the events.  The events will include the following:

---  Exclusive Anakin Skywalker Podracer 3D glasses with ticket purchase, to truly get into the speed and spectacle of 3D Star Wars on the big screen
--- A Hasbro Star Wars Fighter Pods collectible toy with RealD 3D ticket purchase

Star Wars TV Show Has A Working Title

IGN recently sat down with Star Wars prequel producer Rick McCallum to discuss the live action Star Wars television show.  The show has a working title of Star Wars: Underworld, which stays true to rumors that the show features bounty hunters, and the underground world of Star Wars.  It seems the show is still on track, they are just waiting for an economical way to make it happen.  Watch the video below for more!

Dark Horse Announces FBC 2012 Books

Starwars.com has revealed the theatrical poster for the 3D release of Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace.

"At last we will have our revenge." - Darth Maul Returns!

Darth Maul is returning to the Star Wars universe.  That's right, he was cut in half but yet he will return in Star Wars: The Clone Wars this spring.  The full report comes from Entertainment Weekly, and here is an excert from the report with supervising director Dave Filoni speaking on Darth Maul's return.

“I found it funny in The Phantom Menace when Darth Maul got cut in half,” Clone Wars
supervising director Dave Filoni says. “I thought George was
definitively saying to the fans, ‘There’s no way this character is
coming back. This is not a Boba Fett/Sarlacc Pit situation where,
because of fan love, Boba gets out of that thing any number of ways.’
Fast-forward ten-years, and I’m the one to bring Maul back.”  Well, mostly. Filoni acknowledges that the order to resurrect the Sith Lord came from George Lucas himself, who became more interested in his Phantom Menace creation while developing Savage Opress for the last season of The Clone Wars. Awesome as Maul was in the movie, he barely got to do anything before the old chop-chop. When asked if Maul’s return is motivated by the feeling that he was underutilized in The Phantom Menace, Filoni says, “I think in part.” 
    Filoni's biggest challenge, though, will come from the legions of  fans ready to shout “No way!” at the very idea of a Maul return. But addressing the (un)believability of his survival could make for some interesting drama. “First of all, how does he survive getting cut in half?” says Filoni. “Plus, he fell! And also, don’t forget Obi-Wan Kenobi is still around, so I’m sure Maul wouldn’t be very happy with him.”

Empire Strikes Back Deleted Scene

The Complete Star Wars Saga makes it's way to Blu-Ray on Friday September 16th, and a new deleted scene from the forthcoming set has made it's way online.  It's from The Empire Strikes Back, and features a little sexual tension between a favorite smuggler and a princess!

More Changes to The Star Wars Films In The New Blu-Rays

By now you are well aware of the digital Yoda in The Phantom Menace, well now two more changes that have caught wind with fans on the upcoming Star Wars Saga Blu-Ray release have to do with the original trilogy.  In Return Of The Jedi, when The Emperor is torturing Luke as Vader looks on, Vader looks at both of them as he makes his fateful decision, well now he decides to cry out now as he throws The Emperor into the abyss.  Say what?  Yah it's true, it's a minor change but really unnecessary.  Watch the scene below, as well as the change made to Obi-Wan's scare tactic call to the Sand People in A New Hope. (Note: The Obi-Wan change is not confirmed yet)  I dropped the digital Yoda here too for those who haven't seen it. All these changes but yet we still want Han to shoot first!
