New Superman Actor Cast

Yahoo.com is reporting that Henry Cavill has been cast in Zach Snyder's Superman.  Here is the full report:

Henry Cavill, the star of Showtime's "The Tudors," has been cast as iconic superhero Superman in a film to be directed by Zack Snyder, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures confirmed in a statement Jan. 30.
"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen," Snyder said. "I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and 'S' shield."
Cavill will be seen later this year playing Greek warrior Theseus in director Tarsem Singh's action picture "Immortals," and opposite Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver in the thriller "The Cold Light of Day."
The 27-year-old actor was reportedly on the shortlist for "Superman Returns" when McG was to direct it, but when Bryan Singer took over the project he went with Brandon Routh instead

SWAGAPALOOZA! Comics Of The Week

It's Wednesday and time for new comics.  One I'm sure you have seen all over the news as Marvel continues to try and be cutting edge by killing off long time characters,  Hawkeye, then Captain America, soon to be Spidey and today it's the Human Torch.  Really Marvel?  By now we all know there's no point in killing off a comic book character because they always come back!  Anyways, on to the funny books!

Star Wars: Darth Vader & The Lost Command #1

Written By Haden Blackman
Art By Rick Leonardi

Still haunted by the events in Revenge of the Sith, Darth Vader must set aside his past and put his future on hold for a mission to the mysterious Ghost Nebula to locate-and if possible, rescue-a missing Imperial expeditionary force. But what seems a perfect opportunity to lose himself in his duty is complicated by two factors: he is paired with a willful yet highly competent co-commander, and the officer they are being sent to locate is the son of Vader's rising nemesis, Moff Tarkin.

Infestation #1

Written By Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning
Art By David Messina

It begins here! The first-ever IDW event, which affects the Transformers, G.I. Joe, Ghostbusters, and Star Trek universes! This dimensions-spanning storyline begins with a specially priced 40-page story by Abnett & Lanning (The Thanos Imperative) and David Messina (True Blood). Something goes horribly awry in the Zombies vs Robots universe, threatening to tear many of IDW's biggest realities asunder! Don't miss the IDW event ten years in the making!

Fantastic Four #587

One of the four shall fall!  Yes Marvel is killing another character only to bring them back later so check it out.

Avatar Sequels Are Coming!

Director James Cameron recently revealed that he is currently working on the scripts for Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, which will be released in December 2014 and December 2015 respectively. Here's what the director had to say about his Avatar sequels, which he will shoot back-to-back:

"I am in the process of writing the next two Avatar films now. We are planning to shoot them together and post them together, and we will probably release them not quite back to back, but about a year apart. Christmas '14 and '15 is the current plan."

The news falls in line with a report from August which indicated Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 will be shot back-to-back. Without mentioning any names, James Cameron also said that any Avatar survivors will return for Avatar 2 and Avatar 3:

"Basically, if you survived the first film, you get to be in the second film, at least in some form."

Tron 3 Teaser On The Tron Legacy DVD's?

The rumor has been swirling for a few days now about a Tron 3 teaser being released on the upcoming DVD/Blu-Ray release of Tron Legacy.  I took it for rumor at first but now it seems to be true and Aint It Cool News has the details.
According to AICN  it includes 3 scenes.  One includes Bruce Boxleitner (as Alan) and Dan Shor (as Ram).   Turns out that "Ram" was apparently running the FLYNN LIVES campaign and he's frantically destroying all of that data and files, as Alan confronts him.   Dan apparently utters the line, "Why did Kevin give you the cool name" - which means to my way of thinking that after Flynn came out of the Grid, he sought out the human soul of Ram and befriended him and started calling him RAM - you know - some geek that wrote that Actuarial Program that helped people plan for the future.   I sorta love that.   And love that the kindness Flynn showed this lowly geek, apparently created a gung ho champion for the life and memory of Kevin Flynn.
Another has Quora showing up to ENCOM and getting acousted by the press because she's riding Sam's Ducati - and states that she just spoke with Kevin Flynn, yesterday!
The last scene that was shot in this mini-shoot involved text screens where you see the Father & Son...  The Dillingers stating that everything is going as planned.
