Masters Of The Universe Return To Comics At DC

The Masters Of The Universe are returning to comics courtesy of DC Comics. Written by none other than Geoff Johns with artwork by Howard Porter and John Livesay, the lead-off chapter is a prelude from Eternia’s history that is tied directly to the upcoming print comic He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe. In his story, Johns introduces an entirely new character that he first imagined when he was just eight years old – Sir Laser Lot. Mattel even created a new action figure based on the character that will debut at San Diego Comic-Con.
      “I’ve been a huge fan of  He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe since I was a kid, so it’s cool to write a story for this new series — not to mention teaming up with Howard Porter and John Livesay, my old Flash partners in crime,” stated Geoff Johns. “And to create an all-new character that will become an action figure – Sir Laser Lot — it’s beyond fun. I’m going to buy like 100 of them.”
      The digital series will debut new chapters twice a month on Saturdays. The second chapter (7/14) is written by Mike Costa with artwork by Jheremy Raapack and it tells the story of He-Man’s most trusted companion, Battle Cat. The third digital chapter (7/28), written by Kyle Higgins with artwork by Pop Mhan, is an adventure with the captain of the Eternia guard, Man-At-Arms.

The Making Of Masters Of The Universe

he original Masters of The Universe film really isn't that good but at the same time it holds a special place with geeks everywhere like other such cheesy classic films from that era.  Recently work was being done on a 25th Anniversary DVD set that has since been cancelled.  This video is from a new "making of" documentary of the film that would have been included as an extra on the DVD.  It is expected to be included, at least in part, in a new documentary called Toy Masters.

Masters Of The Universe Movie Still On The Way

He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe is one of the most popular 80's franchises of all time.  Dolph Lundren starred in a ridiculously cheesy film in the 80's called Masters Of The Universe in which he starred as He-Man.  A new film has been rumored for years and according to Sony it's still on the way.  Sony vice president DeVon Franlin has offered an update recently saying the following: "One of other things I'm really excited about is we're doing a reboot of the 1980s franchise Masters of the Universe. The He-Man franchise. Very excited about that. Should have that script very soon.
