Batman: Arkham City Mini-Series Coming Soon
DC Comics has announced a Batman: Arkham City comic book miniseries which will show what happened since the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Batman: Arkham Asylum was one of the most successful video games of 2009, and earned a Guinness World Record for the “Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever.” This May, find out what happened between Batman: Arkham Asylum and its highly anticipated sequel in BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY, a six-issue miniseries that bridges the gap between the two games, and leads into the game’s release this fall.
Written by Batman: The Animated Series writer Paul Dini (who also penned both Arkham games) and drawn by Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City concept artist Carlos D’anda, BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY picks up one year after the original game, where former Arkham Warden turned newly elected Mayor of Gotham City Quincy Sharp has decided to close down the infamous institution. In its stead, he establishes “Arkham City,” the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, inmates can roam free and do whatever they want as long as they don’t try to escape. To run this urban prison, Sharp has appointed Dr. Hugo Strange, a man who knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman.
Each issue of the miniseries will be available day-and-date digitally worldwide for $2.99 each. These releases will alternate with 8-page digital-first interludes that will expand on the story included in the miniseries. Written by Dini and drawn by a variety of artists, these digital stories will focus on The Dark Knight’s many enemies as they vie for power in this new city within a city. Each eight-page digital-first interlude will be available for .99 cents, releasing in between issues of the miniseries, and will later be included in print in the BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY collected edition.
“The digital first stories offer a unique incentive for fans to experience interesting and exciting stories beyond the pages in the printed comic,” said Jim Lee, DC Comics Co-Publisher, “The additional pages will serve as interludes within the regular issues and won’t be necessary to follow the main story of the miniseries. Fans will also be able to read these interludes in print later, when we publish the collected edition.”
Read the comic before you play the game, and keep an eye out for the issue #1 variant cover, utilizing in-game graphics.
BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY will double-ship in its first month, with issues 1 & 2 landing in May.

The Wolverine Is Going To Be Awesome Says Jackman
The Hero Complex blog has a great interview with hugh Jackman and he talks a lot about his excitement for the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel simply titled, The Wolverine.
"We finally have the character and with this mythology — ever since X-MEN when I was kind of hanging around and reading all these comics, because I was cast before I ever read any X-Men comics, so I was trying to get my hands on everything. I remember saying to Lauren Shuler Donner, “Lauren, I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen this Japanese story, and I think it’s so good. It’s just genius, it’s brilliant. Chris McQuarrie has done a script that is just phenomenal. I read a story once that said that he wrote THE USUAL SUSPECTS in 15 days, and with this one he said to me, “I just knew what I wanted, and it came out real easy.” And he’s done an unbelievable job with it."
So it looks like The Wolverine is shaping up to be much better than it's predecessor and with Darren Aronofsky at the helm it should be awesome.

The Riddler In The Dark Knight Rises?
Is there a third villain in The Dark Knight Rises? Is Joseph Gordon-Levitt going to play that villain? Or is he going to play another role? No one knows really but he is in talks with director Christopher Nolan to play a role in the upcoming Batman sequel.
Deadline says, "Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to reunite with his Inception director Christopher Nolan in The Dark Knight Rises for Warner Bros. I'm not sure what role he'll play, but I'm told that he will be in the movie when Nolan starts production this spring."
Rumors suggest that The Riddler may be in the film also but of course no one really knows except for Nolan himself along with his screenwriters and close friends.

Captain America Gets First Vengeance
Everyone's first look at Captain America: The First Avenger footage will take place during the Super Bowl this Sunday and along with that comes a new digital comic book from Marvel.
Written by Fred Van Lente and featuring a rotation of artists, the story is set in Marvel's "cinematic universe" and ties in with events of the movie. It's a joint production between Marvel Comics and Marvel Studios."The first issue will provide the movie's Cap, Chris Evans, in full superhero garb, on the cover. And the issue will be available free, online only, at CaptainAmerica.com, followed by a release Feb. 8 on the Marvel Comics iPad app. And Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters July 22, in 3D!
Much of First Vengeance will deal with that origin story — along with an action-packed mission to Nazi-occupied Europe. But the writer is also introducing other characters fans will see in the movie, some of whom are familiar to longtime readers — such as the evil Red Skull and Cap's sidekick Bucky Barnes. Van Lente says Captain America is "a guy who never gives up. That makes him a hero not just for World War II but for the tough times we're going through right now." Says Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige: "2011 is Cap's 70th anniversary. Characters don't stick around that long unless they remain relevant and vital to the modern er
The Killer Remake Is Coming, Like It Or Not
John Woo's action classic The Killer, is one of the best action movies of all time. In the entire history of cinema ever. It's a fantastic movie. It does not need to be remade! But Hollywood in all their wisdom, is going to remake it, in 3D for crying out loud, and John Woo himself is actually producing it! What are you thinking Woo?? The remake is currently in pre-production, with John H. Lee (Saying Good-bye, Oneday, The Cut Runs Deep) set to direct. Jung Woo-Sung (the lead of The Good The Bad The Weird) will portray the character made famous by Chow Yun-Fat. Woo also recently had this to say: “While all my films are special to me, THE KILLER is truly one of my favorites. We are thrilled to reinvent it as an English-language film and know it’s in capable hands by the incredible visual style and tender emotion John H. Lee brings to all his films.”
Hollywood seems to have this need for remakes instead of coming up with original ideas but some films just shouldn't be remade, and The Killer is one of them. But unfortunately, it is happening.
The film will follow the same plot as the original and be set in the present day. If you haven't seen the original then you are missing a fantastic adrenaline rush of a movie and you should go watch it right now!
