As Zach Snyder's Man Of Steel films in Plano, Illinois, set pictures are popping up everywhere. Here are several closeups of star Henry Cavill in the Superman suit. I know the changes he made to the suit are subtle, but why jack with it at all. This Superman looks like he's from a what if futuristic story. I totally understand modernizing it, but I dunno I think it's a bit much, maybe you disagree! I really really want to like this movie and hope for the best, and it's hard to judge on early set pictures, but so far - not impressed. The Man Of Steel opens in theaters in 2013.

More Changes to The Star Wars Films In The New Blu-Rays
By now you are well aware of the digital Yoda in The Phantom Menace, well now two more changes that have caught wind with fans on the upcoming Star Wars Saga Blu-Ray release have to do with the original trilogy. In Return Of The Jedi, when The Emperor is torturing Luke as Vader looks on, Vader looks at both of them as he makes his fateful decision, well now he decides to cry out now as he throws The Emperor into the abyss. Say what? Yah it's true, it's a minor change but really unnecessary. Watch the scene below, as well as the change made to Obi-Wan's scare tactic call to the Sand People in A New Hope. (Note: The Obi-Wan change is not confirmed yet) I dropped the digital Yoda here too for those who haven't seen it. All these changes but yet we still want Han to shoot first!

Transformers: DOTM Returns To IMAX Screens
In case you didn't get a chance to see it in during it's run, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon will be returning to IMAX screens starting August 26th and run until September 8th. Despite the groans over Michael Bay, it really was the best film in the series, and the last hour alone was worth it. Optimus Prime was one bad motherfucker in this movie.
Betrayal Of The Planet Of The Apes!
As Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes continues to do well at the box office, Boom Studios has announced a brand new mini series titled Betrayal Of The Planet Of The Apes. The four issues series is set to release in November and will take place just before the original 1968 Planet Of The Apes film. The creative team recently spoke with Comic Book Resources and had this to say: COMIC BOOK RESOURCES: As you've mentioned, your miniseries is set just before the first film. What made you want to tackle this era?
HARDMAN: When we first pitched the story, we assumed it would need to be set at the same time as the ongoing. The one big note that came back on our pitch was to set it in the classic movieera and include characters like Dr. Zaius. We didn't need a lot of convincing to make the change. Honestly, we were thrilled. It made perfect sense for our story and I couldn't be any more excited to work with the iconic elements of the films.
BECHKO: Truly, it was serendipity.
COMIC BOOK RESOURCES: What storytelling opportunities does this particular moment in time allow?
BECHKO: As I said before, I love the character of Dr. Zaius. The first film makes it clear that ape society was in a state of flux even before Taylor's crew landed. We now have the opportunity to explore that a little bit, and to see Dr. Zaius as a younger ape in a changing world.
HARDMAN: We also have the chance to expand the world of the original movies, introducing new locations and characters. That said, we are hyper-aware of keeping these new elements true to the feel of PotA. I've always been disappointed by licensed books that aren't able to capture the tone of the originals. We're doing everything in our power to make sure that doesn't happen here.

Ridley Scott Returning To Blade Runner
Ridley Scott is deep in production on his Alien spin off, Prometheus, but after that it looks like we may finally get a long talked about second Blade Runner film. Here is the official press release from Warner Brothers. LOS ANGELES, CA, AUGUST 18, 2011—Three-time Oscar-nominated director Ridley Scott is set to helm a follow up to his own ground-breaking 1982 science fiction classic “Blade Runner” for Warner Bros-based financing and production company Alcon Entertainment.
Alcon co-founders and co-Chief Executive Officers Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove will produce with Bud Yorkin and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin, along with Ridley Scott. Frank Giustra and Tim Gamble, CEO’s of Thunderbird Films, will serve as executive producers.
The filmmakers have not yet revealed whether the theatrical project will be a prequel or sequel to the renowned original.
Alcon and Yorkin recently announced that they are partnering to produce “Blade Runner” theatrical sequels and prequels, in addition to all television and interactive productions.
The original film, which has been singled out as the greatest science-fiction film of all time by a majority of genre publications, was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” The film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 1993 and is frequently taught in university courses. In 2007, it was named the 2nd most visually influential film of all time by the Visual Effects Society.
State Kosove and Johnson: “It would be a gross understatement to say that we are elated Ridley Scott will shepherd this iconic story into a new, exciting direction. We are huge fans of Ridley’s and of the original ‘Blade Runner.’ This is once in a lifetime project for us.”
Scott is represented by David Wirtschafter at WME and David Nochinson at Ziffren Brittenham.
Released by Warner Bros. almost 30 years ago, “Blade Runner” was adapted by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples from Philip K. Dick’s groundbreaking novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” and directed by Scott following his landmark “Alien.” The film was nominated for two Academy Awards (Best Visual Effects, and Best Art Direction). Following the filming of “Blade Runner,” the first of Philip K. Dick’s works to be adapted into a film, many other of Dick’s works were likewise adapted, including “Total Recall,” “A Scanner Darkly,” “Minority Report,” “Paycheck,” and the recent “The Adjustment Bureau,” among others.

New Batman Year One Images
Batman Year One hits DVD and Blu-Ray on October 18th from Warner Premiere, and here are a few new stills from the animated film!
Cooper Exits The Crow
Bradley Cooper was set to star as Eric Draven in the proposed remake of The Crow, but has now officially walked away from the project due to scheduling conflicts. Word is that Channing Tatum or Mark Wahlberg may fill the role. Let's hope neither fills the role and this project just dies. holly wood doesn't have to remake every damn movie and The Crow doesn't need a remake! If Tatum or Wahlberg got the role, I hope that Brandon Lee rises from the grave and kicks their asses himself for considering making this film! Seriously, if there's one remake I'm against, it's this one!

When We Ruled H-Town Trailer
Since Comicpalooza has a musical aspect to it, with late night bands playing at it, I thought this was appropriate to share. It's the first full trailer for the documentary, When We Ruled H-Town, about the 90's Houston music scene. Being that I grew up during all of this, I think it's a really cool thing and look forward to seeing the film. I thought I'd share the trailer and just a quick warning, it does contain some foul language.
