The Thing (1982)

Why You Should Watch It:  With the prequel/remake in theaters now, maybe it's time to revisit the classic 1982 film.  There's also the 1951 film The Thing From Another World.  Either way you will be watching a solid science fiction film that may just scare the hell out of you in the process!

Filming on the remake/prequel to the 1981 classic The Thing has been going on for a while now and it finally has a release date of October 14th..  The first trailer for the film has arrived and it doesn't look all that bad. judge for yourself by watching it now!

There is a prequel to The Thing coming out in April 2011 and it has the same name as the original, The Thing. It stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and a bunch of other people no one has heard of.  IMDB has the plot as this, at an Antarctica research site, the discovery of an alien craft leads to a confrontation between graduate student Kate Lloyd and scientist Dr. Sander Halvorson. While Dr. Halvorson keeps to his research, Kate partners with Sam Carter, a helicopter pilot, to pursue the alien life form.The first official still images have been released and here are a few.
